French
newspaper profiles Vietnam's co-operation model The French newspaper The Humanite carried an story on Thursday praising the prospects for co-operation between Vietnam, Mali, France and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in a programme to help secure sustainable development for Mali's Yelimane region. The five-year project, with investment funds of 11 million euros, covers farming, animal husbandry, education, healthcare and communications. Under the project, a city in France acts as a co-ordinator for the concerned partners and Vietnam is responsible for providing Mali with farming techniques. Early this year, five Vietnamese experts will travel to Yelimane to help the Malians develop farming-husbandry combination techniques and household economy models. The newspaper noted that in the near future the project is likely to become a new model of multilateral co-peration in agriculture between Vietnam, together with its partners, and other regions of Mali, and that the impact of the model may even be felt in other parts of Africa. |
