Canadian Ambassador Richard Lecoq has announced a grant of more than VND1.6 billion through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives. The fund will facilitate six projects, which will benefit approximately 5,000 people in nine provinces across the country.

The six projects focus on promoting socio-economic development in the central coastal province of Binh Thuan, building the Hoa Sua School for pupils with difficulties, providing assistance for disabled children in the southernmost province of Ca Mau, as well as funding the Women's Unions of the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong and the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang.

These projects will benefit three provinces in the Central Highlands namely Dak Nong, Dak Lak and Lam Dong, and some areas in the provinces of Dien Bien, Cao Bang, Binh Thuan, Hau Giang, Vinh Long and Ca Mau.
