Belgium's Anvers province promotes cooperation with Viet Nam

Brussels (VNA) - C. Paulus, Governor of Belgium's Anvers province praised the multifaceted cooperation between his province and Vietnamese ministries, services and localities, especially in the sea-born economy, while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Phan Thuy Thanh in Anvers on Friday.

 

The Governor expressed his pleasure with the heightened cooperation between his province Vietnamese partners, such as the Ministry of Transport and Communication, and universities of transport and communication and maritime, and Ho Chi Minh City in maritime transport, port construction, diamond processing and tourism. He stressed that Anvers province will further promote cooperation with Viet Nam in the future.

 

Ambassador Thanh informed the leadership of Anvers about Viet Nam 's socio-economic development and its achievements in the renovation process, as well as in national construction and poverty reduction.

 

The diplomat spoke highly of the Anvers-Viet Nam cooperation in the fields of Anvers ' strengths. She thanked the province for its effective assistance to Viet Nam in training managers in port construction and sea-born economic development.

 

She hoped Anvers will continue providing Viet Nam with assistance.

 

The first Consulate General of Viet Nam in Belgium was established in Anvers , which is expected to contribute to promoting the two countries' cooperation, particularly in economy, Ambassador Thanh said.-Enditem

Brussels (VNA) - A Viet Nam Day was held at Natoye in Namur province by the Workers' Party of Belgium (WPB) as part of its annual Summer Camping activities.

Vietnamese Ambassador Phan Thuy Thanh, Vietnamese students and overseas Vietnamese attended the event which was imbued with the Vietnamese cultural identity.

Addressing the function, Madame Rite Done, who is in charge of the WPB's external relations, expressed Belgian workers' deep sentiment towards Vietnamese people, who were so staunch and brave in their past struggle for national liberation and very active and creative in the current national construction and development.

Ambassador Thanh briefed her guests on Viet Nam's achievements in socio-economic development, the renovation process and international integration, as well as spoke highly of the constant development in bilateral ties between Viet Nam and Belgium.

 Their speeches were followed by the performances of Vietnamese folk songs and dances, and the displays of folklore games and martial arts involving a large crowd of both Vietnamese and Belgian people. Also on show were Vietnamese books deficting Viet Nam's land and people.-Enditem
